TERMS OF SERVICE
Effective Date: September 5, 2026
By purchasing a service from Manfred’s Modding & Repair (“Manfred’s,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), submitting a device for repair, or otherwise requesting our services, you (“Customer,” “you,” or “your”) agree to the following Terms of Service.
Please read these terms carefully before submitting any device.
1. SERVICES
Manfred’s Modding & Repair provides electronic repair, diagnostics, modification, maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and related services for devices such as:
- Game consoles
- PCs and computers
- Handheld gaming systems
- Controllers and accessories
- Consumer electronics
- Other electronic devices accepted by Manfred’s
Services and pricing may vary depending on the device, condition, problem, requested work, and parts required.
2. DIAGNOSTIC FEE
A diagnostic fee may be charged before repair work begins.
The diagnostic fee covers the time and labor required to inspect and troubleshoot the device.
A diagnostic fee does not guarantee that the device can be repaired.
If a device is determined to be beyond economical repair, unsafe to repair, missing necessary components, or otherwise not reasonably repairable, the diagnostic fee may still apply.
Any additional repair work requiring customer approval will be communicated before proceeding whenever reasonably possible.
3. MAIL-IN REPAIRS
Customers sending devices to Manfred’s are responsible for properly packaging and shipping their devices to us.
Customers should:
- Use appropriate protective packaging.
- Include only items necessary for the requested service.
- Remove personal belongings, discs, game cartridges, memory cards, batteries when appropriate, and other unnecessary items.
- Back up important data before shipment.
- Use a shipping service that provides tracking and insurance when appropriate.
Manfred’s is not responsible for damage caused by inadequate packaging before the device arrives at our facility.
4. SHIPPING DAMAGE AND LOSS
Manfred’s is not responsible for devices that are lost or damaged while being shipped to us.
Once a repaired device is returned to the Customer, responsibility for the shipment transfers according to the applicable shipping service and purchased shipping/insurance coverage.
Customers are responsible for providing an accurate shipping address.
Additional shipping charges may apply if a package is returned because of an incorrect or incomplete address.
5. DEVICE CONDITION
The Customer represents that they are the lawful owner of the device or have authorization from the lawful owner to submit it for service.
Manfred’s may refuse service for devices that appear to be:
- Stolen
- Illegally obtained
- Unsafe
- Contaminated
- Tampered with in a manner that creates a safety risk
- Damaged beyond reasonable repair
- Involved in unlawful activity
6. PRE-EXISTING DAMAGE
The Customer understands that electronic devices may contain hidden, pre-existing, or intermittent problems.
Manfred’s is not responsible for unrelated pre-existing defects that become apparent during testing or repair.
Examples may include:
- Cracked housings
- Broken ports
- Liquid damage
- Corrosion
- Previous repair damage
- Missing screws or components
- Faulty storage devices
- Damaged cables
- Motherboard damage
- Existing software problems
If additional problems are discovered, additional charges may apply if the Customer requests repair of those problems.
7. DATA AND PERSONAL INFORMATION
CUSTOMERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR BACKING UP THEIR DATA BEFORE SUBMITTING A DEVICE.
Repair or modification may require resetting, formatting, replacing, reinstalling, or otherwise altering storage devices or software.
Manfred’s does not guarantee that personal data, accounts, saves, files, settings, applications, or other information will remain intact.
Manfred’s is not responsible for lost, corrupted, deleted, or inaccessible data resulting from repair, modification, testing, troubleshooting, software installation, hardware failure, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Customers should remove sensitive personal information whenever possible.
8. PASSWORDS AND ACCOUNT INFORMATION
Manfred’s may request passwords, PINs, or other access information when reasonably necessary to test a device.
Customers should provide only the information necessary for the requested service.
Manfred’s will not intentionally access personal information unrelated to the repair.
Customers are responsible for changing passwords after service when appropriate.
9. MODIFICATIONS AND CUSTOM WORK
Modification services may permanently alter a device.
Modifications can potentially:
- Void manufacturer warranties
- Change device functionality
- Cause compatibility issues
- Require additional maintenance
- Prevent future official software updates
- Cause hardware or software failures
The Customer accepts these risks when requesting modification services.
Manfred’s does not guarantee compatibility with every future update, accessory, game, application, network, or third-party service.
10. CUSTOMER AUTHORIZATION
By submitting a device, the Customer authorizes Manfred’s to perform reasonable inspection, testing, disassembly, repair, modification, and troubleshooting necessary to provide the requested service.
Additional work that materially changes the original requested service may require customer approval.
11. PAYMENT
Payment is required according to the invoice or service terms provided by Manfred’s.
Customers may be required to pay:
- Diagnostic fees
- Labor charges
- Parts costs
- Shipping charges
- Taxes
- Additional approved services
- Other applicable charges
Orders may not be returned until all applicable balances have been paid.
12. REPAIR ESTIMATES
Repair estimates are estimates and may change if additional damage or problems are discovered after disassembly or testing.
If the actual cost differs substantially from the original estimate, Manfred’s may contact the Customer for approval before continuing.
13. PARTS
Manfred’s may use new, refurbished, aftermarket, original-equipment, or donor components depending on availability and the service requested.
Unless specifically promised otherwise, a particular manufacturer or brand of replacement component is not guaranteed.
14. REPAIR WARRANTY
If a warranty is offered for a particular repair, the warranty applies only to the specific work performed and/or parts covered by that warranty.
A repair warranty does not cover:
- Physical damage after delivery
- Liquid damage
- Drops or impacts
- Electrical surges
- Customer modifications
- Unauthorized repairs
- Improper use
- Abuse or neglect
- New unrelated failures
- Normal wear and tear
- Software problems unrelated to the repair
Warranty terms may vary by service.
15. NO GUARANTEE OF COMPLETE RESTORATION
Repairing one problem does not guarantee that an aging or damaged device will operate indefinitely.
Older electronics may have multiple failing components.
Manfred’s cannot guarantee that a device will remain operational after repair if additional unrelated components fail.
16. REPAIR ATTEMPTS
Some repairs involve a risk of failure despite reasonable professional care.
In cases involving severely damaged, liquid-damaged, corroded, previously repaired, or otherwise compromised electronics, successful repair may not be possible.
The Customer acknowledges that attempting repair on a damaged device may involve additional risk.
17. UNCLAIMED DEVICES
Customers are responsible for retrieving or arranging shipment of completed devices.
If a Customer fails to respond to repeated contact attempts or fails to retrieve a device for an extended period, Manfred’s may treat the device as abandoned to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Before disposing of or otherwise handling an abandoned device, Manfred’s will provide notices and follow applicable legal requirements.
18. CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Refund eligibility depends on the service, work already performed, parts purchased, and applicable law.
Diagnostic, labor, shipping, special-order, and already-installed parts charges may be non-refundable once the applicable service has been performed or costs incurred.
Custom work and specially ordered parts may be subject to additional cancellation restrictions.
19. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Some repairs or modifications may depend on third-party software, hardware, services, servers, networks, manufacturers, or other providers.
Manfred’s does not control third-party services and cannot guarantee their continued availability or functionality.
20. SOFTWARE AND MODDING
Customers are responsible for ensuring that their requested use of modified devices and software complies with applicable laws, licenses, terms of service, and intellectual-property rights.
Manfred’s does not provide or authorize unauthorized copies of copyrighted games, software, or other protected material.
The Customer is responsible for any content or software they provide for installation or use.
21. LIABILITY

The version applicable to an order will generally be the version in effect when the service is accepted, unless otherwise required by law.
27. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms will be interpreted under applicable federal and state laws.
Nothing in these Terms prevents a Customer from exercising rights provided by applicable consumer-protection laws.
